Donald and Mary Jane Ackerman established the Ackerman Scholarship fund in memory of their sons, David and Donald Ackerman, who attended UW-Madison in the 1960s.

The scholarship was established by Clifford and Kitty Hach in 1982 and is awarded to undergraduates who plan to teach high school chemistry after graduation.

Established in 1985 by inventor Chester Davis (M.S. 1945, chemistry), this scholarship honors former UW-Madison chemistry Professor Alfred Wilds.

Ronald Anderson received his Ph.D. from the UW-Madison Department of Chemistry in 1974, under Prof. Chuck Casey. His goal is to give back to the department by supporting summer research for a graduate student through an assistantship.

Alpha Chi Sigma funds an undergraduate award. The organization was founded at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1902. It is a professional co-ed chemistry fraternity with a focus of building a lasting bond between members and assisting them in their professional pursuits of science. Website

This scholarship is in memory of Andrew Dorsey, who received his B.S. from UW-Madison in 2000, double-majoring in chemistry and German while researching with Professor Dan Rich. Andrew died in 2001 while pursuing a doctorate at UC-Berkeley. His parents, Dr. David and Mrs. Klara Dorsey, established this scholarship for chemistry students at UW-Madison.

Charles Casey, emeritus professor of chemistry, and Martha Casey, emerita assistant vice chancellor for academic planning and analysis, established this fund to benefit outstanding chemistry graduate students. Both Charles and Martha hold doctorates in chemistry and have been part of the UW-Madison campus community for more than 45 years.

This fund was set up by Kenneth Edmund Dempsky, who appreciated the value of his B.S. degree in Chemistry (‘61) from UW-Madison. It provides scholarship support to undergraduate students majoring in Chemistry who have financial need, as determined by the Department in cooperation with the Office of Student Financial Aid. Many donations to the Department are either not enough to endow on their own or open to a wider variety of recipients. These funds are combined into the Department of Chemistry Scholarship, where they can be effectively used for student support.
